The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) offers emergency management training for emergency management professionals, government employees and the general public. As part of the National Preparedness Goal, their free online independent study program offers self-paced courses in nine “mission areas”:

- Integrated Preparedness
- Hazard Mitigation

There is a final exam at the end of each one, but you’ll feel more confident in your ability to handle disasters once you’ve aced the class.
